DEFINITION OF PCB COMPONENT FUNCTIONAL TEST PROCESS – Functional Test (FCT).
FCT refers to functional testing. Typically, functional testing is performed at the end of the production line.
This is often referred to as final quality control testing, which is performed to ensure that specifications are being met by the FCT.
Progress FCT required by the simulation or emulation of the environment in which a product is expected to operate.
This is done to test and fix any issues with functionality.
Environment related FCT includes any device that communicates with DUT, power source of DUT said and any loads necessary to perform the function DUT Exactly.
FCT use customer specific connectors, instead of test points on PCBs.
Functional testing is performed automatically by production line operators using test software.
To accomplish this, the software will communicate with any external programming devices such as I/O boards, digital multimeters, and communication ports.
In conjunction with the testing equipment, the software interfaces with DUT is something that helps FCT can be done.
