Thickness measurement is an important task for two reasons:
1: It is difficult to make accurate measurements,
2: Very difficult to do without destroying the sample.
The Magna Mike 8600 is the solution to many problems related to thickness measurement.
What is Magna Mike 8600?
Magna mike 8600 is a wall thickness gauge that uses a non-destructive method for measurement.
It is used to measure the thickness of non-magnetic materials: plastic, cast iron, rubber, aluminum…
It has a probe and a target ball and works on the principle of the Hall effect.
In simple terms, it measures the distance between the probe and the wall. It is a simple to use device but requires good attention while operating it.
Output can be taken from more than one output port, it has mini USB output port, RS232 port, Video output port and micro SD card slot.
So you see, you can transfer data very easily. Since it has a large memory, alphanumeric data can be easily recorded and transferred.
It comes with target balls in 3 sizes, 1/8 inch, 1/16 inch and 3/16 inch.
The larger the measuring ball, the better the observation. But in most cases, the size of the measuring ball depends on the area to be inspected. The kit comes with a variety of frames to calibrate the device.
The standard device comes with a power adapter but additional batteries can be purchased if on-site testing is required.
Another optional feature is the foot switch. As mentioned, care must be taken for accuracy. The specimen must remain stable while the test is being performed.
In this case, the third person should press the switch to record the reading or you can choose the foot switch. You just need to press it lightly with your foot and the reading will be stored.
There is a push button provided on the probe that can be assigned with a task, for example you have assigned self-calibration to it. Each time you push it, the device will be calibrated.
