+ BL121-20: in flow (flow-cell)
Multiple configurations
The controller can be configured in one of two configurations: either in-line allowing the probe and chemical injector to be installed directly into existing piping (BL121-10) or panel mounted with a bypass flow cell (BL121-20). The bypass flow cell allows calibration and maintenance of the probe without stopping the circulation pump.
Digital combination probe
The HI1036-1802 is a digital probe that measures pH, ORP, and temperature. This probe also incorporates a matching pin. The pin is considered the ground wire and is used to prevent ground loop effects from causing erroneous readings and damage to the system.
QUANTIFICATION AND CONTROL
PERISTILIAL DOSING PUMP SYSTEM
The BL121 is equipped with two peristaltic metering pumps with replaceable chemical resistant tubing. When using a diaphragm pump, chlorine gas formed from outgassing can collect at the pump head resulting in initial losses; with a peristaltic pump the accumulation of chlorine gas is no longer a problem when using rollers and tubing.
PROPORTIONAL PUMP CONTROL
The BL121 features proportional dosing pump control. Based on the sensitivity of the chemical processes, the controllers allow the user to adjust a proportional band. This setting determines the dosing pump time as a percentage of deviation from set points allowing for very fine control in maintaining the desired set points.
Custom flow rate
The flow rate from the metering pump is adjustable from 0.5 to 3.5L/h. Larger water lines can pump more chemicals than smaller water lines because they can take more chemicals to make the change in value. Adjustable flow rates, such as proportional ribbons, allow for better control of the desired set point.
ORP metering pump confirmation
With chlorine disinfection there is an inverse relationship between pH and ORP. If the pH increases then the ORP will decrease. The BL121 provides a pump confirmation feature that will not pump chlorine until the pH value is first adjusted if the ORP value is low even though there is sufficient chlorine present. This feature avoids wastage of chemicals and avoids higher than necessary chlorine concentrations.
CONNECT & DISPLAY
Analog output
The BL121 provides three 4-20 mA outputs for pH, ORP, and temperature. Each output can be disabled or connected to an external recording device and can be adjusted to match the measurement value. For greater flexibility and better resolution, the analog output can be scaled; the user can define any two points in the parameter scale to correspond to the analog output amplitude. This adjustment provides better resolution in the required measurement range.
Multi-function display
The BL121's multi-function display allows for three display modes. The LCD can display all three parameters at once, a 3-second cycle of a single parameter, or a real-time display with options for parameter selection, zooming, and reviewing recorded data.
Circulation pump
An internal flow switch or a mechanical relay attached to the circulation pump power supply can be connected to the BL121 input. When there is no flow or no power to the circulation pump, the circuit will disable the metering pumps. This will avoid pumping chemicals when there is no water in the system.
Programmable alarm system
The Hanna controller allows the user to enable or disable low and high alarms for all parameters. When enabled, all pumps will stop. The alarm system also provides pump over-dose protection if the value is not adjusted within a specified time period, the machine will alarm.
Multi-color LED indicator
The BL121 provides multiple LEDs that indicate status, maintenance, and pump operation. The STATUS LED changes color based on operational status; green is within range, yellow when user intervention is required, and red for problems. The SERVICE LEDs indicate any alarms and process errors experienced by the controller.
CONNECTIVITY & SECURITY
Record data automatically
Values for each parameter are automatically logged every 10 seconds. A new log is started each time the meter is calibrated or at the start of a new day. The logged data includes pH, ORP, and temperature values, the latest calibration data, setup configuration, and any event data. Each log is saved as a .csv file for easy transfer.
USB connection
To view and save data, users can easily transfer data to a computer using a flash drive and USB port.
Password protected
Helps restrict access to calibration, setup and review of recorded data. Password can be set and enabled/disabled in the general settings of the machine.
