WHY IS IT NEEDED TO MEASURE pH IN BEER PRODUCTION?
Measuring pH during beer production is important due to its influence on enzyme activity during mashing, yeast activity during fermentation, and the incorporation of flavoring ingredients. Monitoring and controlling pH allows for a consistent flavor profile and ensures a stable product. Brewers face a number of challenges when measuring pH. The mash has a high content of semi-solids and sugars formed from the conversion of starch by enzymatic activity. Both can cause problems, including clouding the glass and clogging the joints.
FABRIC JOINTS
The HI981031 has a cloth junction. When clogged, simply clear the junction by pulling back 1/8 of the junction from the electrode to expose a new section, resulting in a renewed junction for longer electrode life.
FLAT ELECTRODE HEAD
Allows for easy cleaning after measurement and prevents solids in ground samples and fermentation yeast from sticking to the sensor to prolong its life.

– Beer-specific cleaning solution packs are designed to keep your electrode free of yeast and sugar buildup. This concentrated combination of cleaning agents quickly and effectively cleans the meter so it stays in optimal condition by stirring to dissolve dirt in the water. Do not scrub as this will scratch the bulb. Measure sensor and then use a paper towel to absorb excess water (do not clean).
