Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The HI12883 is a 3-in-1 preamplified multiparameter probe that measures pH, EC/TDS, and temperature in a single polypropylene body. The pH portion of this probe is constructed with a cloth junction, maintenance-free polymer gel electrolyte, and low temperature glass sensing bulb. The EC/TDS portion of this probe uses two graphite sensors to determine conductivity and total dissolved solids. A built-in temperature sensor ensures that both pH and EC/TDS readings are compensated for temperature changes in both standards and samples.
– Measure 4 parameters at the same time: pH, EC, TDS, temperature
– Applications: greenhouses, hydroponics, water and wastewater treatment, agriculture, boilers, cooling towers
– For use with HI991300 and HI991301 meters
POLYPROPYLENE ELECTRODE BODY
The polypropylene body of the HI12883 houses all three sensors in a strong, rigid plastic body. This body material is suitable for a wide range of applications and excels in portable meter measurements due to its durability. This body protects the spherical glass pH bulb from scratches or breakage due to accidental bumps or drops. Polypropylene is a high quality plastic that is resistant to many harsh chemicals.
PH PREAMPLIFIER ELECTRODE
The pH electrode circuit has a built-in amplifier that serves to reduce electrical noise for high impedance pH measurements. Electrical noise can come from motors and pumps used in greenhouses. The single reference junction design of the pH electrode has a cloth junction that allows ions to move between the internal gel electrolyte and the sample being measured. The advantage of the cloth junction is that it can be removed from the probe, exposing a fresh surface when readings become noisy or inaccurate. These features make the probe ideal for use in fertilizer solutions.
EC/TDS SENSOR IN AMMETER TYPE
The EC/TDS value is measured by a two-prong ammeter sensor. An AC voltage is applied to the sensor and the amount of current passed between the two stainless steel pins determines the amount of dissolved ionic solids present.
BUILT-IN TEMPERATURE SENSOR
pH and EC/TDS readings must be temperature compensated to obtain accurate results. The built-in temperature sensor of the HI12883 provides fast temperature readings which are then used to temperature compensate the pH and EC/TDS results respectively.
Quick DIN CONNECTION PORT
The HI12883 uses a quick-release DIN connector that makes attaching and removing the probe simple and easy. The connector is compatible with meters that have a DIN connector. The HI12883 is used with the Hanna HI991300 and HI991301 meters.
