WHY IS IT NEEDED TO MEASURE pH IN BEER PRODUCTION?
Measuring pH during beer production is important due to its influence on enzyme activity during mashing, yeast activity during fermentation, and the incorporation of flavoring ingredients. Monitoring and controlling pH allows for a consistent flavor profile and ensures a stable product. Brewers face a number of challenges when measuring pH. The mash has a high content of semi-solids and sugars formed from the conversion of starch by enzymatic activity. Both can cause problems, including clouding the glass and clogging the joints.
Allows for easy cleaning after measurement and prevents solids in ground samples and fermentation yeast from sticking to the sensor to prolong its life.
ELECTRODE BODY MADE OF TITAN
Protects the meter from accidental breakage making it ideal for rough brewing environments.
FABRIC JOINTS
The FC2142 has a fabric junction. When clogged, simply clear the junction by pulling back 1/8 of the junction from the electrode to expose a new section, resulting in a renewed junction for longer electrode life.
BUILT-IN TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Measure the temperature and compensate for the measured pH value.
NO NEED TO FILL ELECTROLYTIC SOLUTION LIKE GLASS ELECTRODE
Gel electrodes simplify maintenance by simply rinsing and storing without the need to refill the electrolyte inside the body like glass electrodes.

REAL-TIME DATA
pH and temperature display updated every second. Readings are automatically saved to a history file every hour, limited only by available memory on the device.

Measurements can be displayed on screen, with tabulated data, or as graphs. Charts can be zoomed in and out with pinch-to-zoom technology.
GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
Displays date and time of current calibration, average slope and offset, along with calibrated buffers, mV, temperature and slope values between each buffer.
WARNING WHEN CALIBRATION IS NECESSARY OR OVER MEASUREMENT
The Hanna Lab app notifies you when HALO needs calibration or if measurement thresholds are exceeded.
DATA LOG
Saved log files can be annotated with measurement-specific information. Data is easily shared via email in CSV format.
