The HI4007 chloride selective electrode is a half-cell sensor housed in an epoxy body. The internal elements are isolated from the sample by a silver chloride sensing membrane. This sensor requires a separate reference electrode for measurement.
Hanna solid state half-cell electrodes are designed for use with the HI5315 conical junction reference electrode. The conical reference forms a liquid junction with the sample solution at the tip of the conical junction, providing a very stable reference current and a consistent flow rate of electrolyte into the solution.
For the HI4007 to accurately measure chloride content, it is important that The ionic strength of the standard and sample solutions is adjusted to a constant value. with halide ionic strength adjustment solution. The ISA halides ensure that the activity coefficient is constant so that the concentration of residual chloride ions can be measured. Measuring all solutions at a constant ionic strength reduces the margin of error between measurements. ISE solid state chloride The HI4007 can measure from 50μM (1.8 mg/L) to 1M (35,500 mg/L).

SALIENT FEATURES
Fixed sensor module – Solid-state half-cell ISE is the electrode detects free ions in solution. The highly compressed, insoluble sensing particles are attached to the halfcell electrode by a fixed sensing module for ease of use.

Working principle: A solid-state sensor electrode develops a voltage due to the ion exchange that occurs between the solution and the inorganic membrane. An equilibrium occurs due to the limited solubility of the membrane material in the sample. When the ionic strength of the solution is fixed with ISA SOLUTION, the voltage will be proportional to the concentration of free ions in the solution.
