Cyanide selective electrode HI4009 is a half-cell sensor housed in an epoxy body. The internal elements are isolated from the sample by a silver halide sensing membrane. This sensor requires a separate reference electrode when measuring.

Hanna solid state half-cell electrodes are designed for use with the HI5315 conical junction reference electrode. The conical reference forms a liquid junction with the sample solution at the tip of the conical junction, providing a very stable reference current and a consistent flow rate of electrolyte into the solution.

Alkaline ISAs ensure that the activity coefficient is constant so that the concentration of free cyanide ions can be measured. Measuring all solutions at a constant ionic strength reduces the margin of error between measurements. HI4009 Cyanide Solid State ISE can measure from 1μM (0.026 mg/L) to 0.01 M (260 mg/L).

SALIENT FEATURES

 

Fixed sensor module – Solid-state half-cell ISE is the electrode detects free ions in solution. The highly compressed, insoluble sensing particles are attached to the halfcell electrode by a fixed sensing module for ease of use.

Durable epoxy body – Half-cell probe body made of durable epoxy resin.

BNC connection – The HI4009 has a universal BNC connector that easily connects to any meter with a BNC input.

Working principle: A solid-state sensor electrode develops a voltage due to the ion exchange that occurs between the solution and the inorganic membrane. An equilibrium occurs due to the limited solubility of the membrane material in the sample. When the ionic strength of the solution is fixed with ISA SOLUTION, the voltage will be proportional to the concentration of free ions in the solution.
