Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The HI10430 is a glass body, refillable, double junction pH electrode with a built-in temperature sensor. The electrode connects to the meter using a 3.5mm connector dedicated to digital electrodes such as the HI10430. Edge (HI2xxx) and HI83xxx.
The HI10430 electrode has an integrated microchip that stores sensor type, serial number, and calibration information. This electrode has a single ceramic junction in the outer reference cell and the pH sensing part is made of high temperature glass.
Ideal design for measuring in hydrocarbons, paints, solvents, highly conductive samples, strong acids and bases and measuring samples at high temperatures.
Microchip integration
The integrated microchip stores sensor type, serial number and calibration information including date, time, slope, offset, probe condition and buffers used. This information is automatically retrieved by the digital meter when the electrode is plugged in. The ability to transfer information allows for quick exchange of probes without the need for recalibration. All pH measurements are made in the electrode and transferred digitally to the meter. This helps to avoid noise associated with traditional high impedance analog measurement systems. Electrical noise can be generated from the built-in temperature sensor and when working in humid environments.
Spherical glass head
Spherical bulb for general purpose use. Other tip shapes such as conical for penetration and flat tip for surface measurements.
Integrated temperature sensor
The HI10430 incorporates a temperature sensor in the tip of the pH electrode. A temperature sensor provides a highly accurate temperature reading and should be placed as close to the pH electrode as possible to compensate for temperature changes across the membrane.
Glass body
The glass body of the electrode is suitable for many applications due to its chemical resistance. The glass electrode is compatible with many non-aqueous solvents and other aggressive chemicals. The glass is also resistant to many forms of radiation, such as ultraviolet radiation.
Triple ceramic joint
The triple ceramic junction allows for a higher flow rate of electrolyte from the reference cell into the solution. A standard pH electrode will use a single junction that allows 15 to 20 µL/hour of electrolyte to flow; the HI10530 has a triple ceramic junction, providing 40 to 50 µL/hour of electrolyte to flow. The high flow rate provides a faster electrode response and more stable measurements in viscous solutions or samples of low conductivity.
Recharge electrolysis
The HI10430 is a refillable probe. Since it is a double junction pH electrode, the fill solution is the HI7082 3.5M KCl. This solution does not contain silver as with the single junction electrode.
