CINE-SHAPED ELECTRODE HEAD

The conical electrode tip allows penetration into solids, semi-solids, and emulsions for direct measurement of pH in food products, soils, and emulsions such as hand creams.

LOW TEMPERATURE GLASS – LT

A standard pH electrode using general purpose (GP) glass has an impedance of 100 megaohms at 25°C. The FC2323 uses LT (low temperature) glass which has an impedance of approximately 50 megaohms at 25°C. As the temperature of the glass decreases in the sample, the impedance of the LT glass approaches that of the GP glass. If GP glass is used, the impedance will increase above the optimum range, increasing the impedance and ultimately affecting the measurement. The FC2323 is suitable for use with samples that measure from -5 to 100°C.

fc09920fc098 An optional stainless steel blade is attached to the probe for easy penetration of meat, even in frozen samples. Cutting into the meat will allow the pH glass and reference junction to come into contact with the sample, allowing direct pH measurement without extensive sample preparation. The FC098 (20mm; 0.75″) and FC099 (35mm; 1.38″) are two stainless steel blades used with the FC2323 electrode.

PVDF is a food grade plastic that is resistant to a wide range of chemicals and solvents, including sodium hypochlorite. PVDF plastics are abrasion resistant, mechanically strong, and resistant to ultraviolet and nuclear radiation. PVDF is also resistant to mold and mildew.

Suspended solids and proteins commonly found in food products will clog the conventional ceramic reference junction, resulting in slower response times, erratic readings, and the need for electrode replacement. frequent.
