Hanna Instruments offers a line of pH electrodes designed for a variety of applications. The type of glass used for the pH sensor, bulb shape, body material, type of junction, type of reference, and electrolyte used are among the design considerations.

Measuring pH at very high temperatures is not beneficial to the sensitive glass bulb and will shorten its life. A pH electrode with plain glass (GP) will have an impedance of 100 megaohms at a temperature of 25^oC while the impedance of HT glass is about 400 megaohms at a temperature of 25^oC. Body of HI1217D Made of polyetherimide (PEI) resin. The PEI body is suitable for many applications and is highly durable. The protective covering around the spherical glass tip reduces the possibility of electrode breakage due to impact or dropping. PEI resin is a high quality resin that is resistant to many harsh chemicals.

DIN connection

HI1217D Uses a DIN connector. This type of connection is universal and can be used on any pH meter with a DIN input. Other types of connections include BNC, screw type, T-type and 3.5mm. Each meter usually has a unique connector and cannot be changed.
