DOUBLE JOINT

The HI1230B has a double junction design with an internal compartment containing the reference wire. Silver ions are present in the electrolyte of the inner chamber, containing the Ag/AgCl reference wire; The electrolyte outside this chamber does not contain silver. The double junction design means virtually no silver from the electrode enters the sample. This design allows measurement in applications where silver ions in the sample are not desired or silver precipitates form on the junction.

Spherical pH SENSOR HEAD

Spherical bulbs for general purpose use. Other tip shapes include cone for penetration and flat tip for surface measurements.

HIGH TEMPERATURE GLASS FORMULA

Measuring pH at very high temperatures is not beneficial to the sensitive glass bulb and will shorten its life. A pH electrode with plain glass (GP) will have an impedance of 100 megaohms at a temperature of 25^oC while the impedance of HT glass is about 400 megaohms at a temperature of 25^oC. When the HI1230B is used at high temperatures, the impedance drops to the level of GP glass. The HI1230B is suitable for use with measuring samples from 0 to 70^oC.

PLASTIC ELECTRODE BODY

Durable. The guard around the spherical glass tip reduces the possibility of electrode breakage due to impact or drop. PEI plastic is a high quality plastic, resistant to many harsh chemicals.
