WHY DO YOU NEED TO PRESERVE PH AND ORP ELECTRONS?
The HI70300L is made from reagent grade chemistry that can be used to ensure optimal performance of pH and ORP electrodes. It is mandatory to store the pH electrode in solution to keep the pH electrode's glass membrane hydrated. It is best to use a preservative solution; * Do not store the pH or ORP electrode in distilled or deionized water. This will reduce the life of the sensor. Hanna Instruments storage solutions are specially formulated to minimize microbial growth and prevent any diffusion/osmotic effects from storing the probe in a solution containing a concentrated internal reference electrolyte. Storing pH and/or ORP electrodes in storage solutions will also keep the junction clear. Keeping the sensor and junction hydrated will help ensure rapid and reliable measurements. In the event that the pH electrode is cleaned with one of the HANNA electrode cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in HI80300L storage solution for at least 1 hour prior to measurement.

THE BOTTLES ARE SEALED TO ENSURE QUALITY
– HI70300L is the solution used to store pH electrodes*. To ensure optimum response time, the glass sensing tip and reference junction of the pH electrode should be kept moist and not allowed to dry out when not in use. Placing the electrode in a small glass containing storage solution or placing a cotton ball containing storage solution in the protective cap are ways to store the electrode.
