HI7041S is an electrolyte solution for polarographic dissolved oxygen probes. Polarographic sensor technology is based on the Ross and Clark polarographic measurement methods. An oxygen probe consists of a platinum electrode and a solid silver electrode. HI7041S is a Potassium Chloride solution that fills the electrode through a PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane. With polarographic technology, an external voltage is applied to the platinum cathode, silver anode, electrolyte solution and gas – permeable membrane proportional to the oxygen concentration in the solution.

Product's name |
Electrolyte solution used to fill dissolved oxygen film for polarographic electrodes. |
Specifications |
– 30mL dropper bottle – Colorless solution: The solution does not contain any dyes that could yellow or contaminate the electrode components. |
Using |
1. Rinse the HI76407A/P measuring membrane cover with a little HI7041 electrolyte solution, gently shaking while rinsing. 2. Place the O-ring in the correct position on the inside of the membrane cover. 3. Fill the HI7041 bottle with new electrolyte solution. 4. Use your finger to gently tap the edge of the membrane cap to ensure there are no trapped air bubbles. Do not tap the membrane directly from the bottom up to avoid damaging the membrane. 5. With the sensor tip facing down, screw the membrane cap onto the probe clockwise. A few drops of electrolyte solution will spill out to be exact. |
Methods of preservation |
– BStore membrane caps at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. – Do not reuse the old membrane cap after inserting it into the electrode. – Always use new HI7041 electrolyte solution. – When not in use and during polarization, remove the membrane cap and discard the old electrolyte solution inside, then dry the probe and cover the probe with the red and black transport cap originally supplied.. THE ELECTRODE WILL OXIDATE AND BE COMPLETELY DAMAGED IF THE ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION IS LEFT UNUSED FOR TOO LONG TIME. – After use, cover and store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight – DO NOT dilute or add any chemicals to the solution. – Always use fresh solution for each use. – ABSOLUTELY do not pour used solution back into the bottle. – DO NOT use expired products. |
