HI4010-10 is a 10 ppm (mg/L) fluoride standard solution that is premixed with TISAB II. TISAB II is an ISA solution that is used to determine the activity of fluoride ions in solution so that the concentration of fluoride can be measured. TISAB II also reduces interferences from low pH and from ions that complex with fluoride that cannot be measured by the ISE.
This solution is used to calibrate the fluoride solid-state ion selective electrode (ISE). Hanna ISE standards are manufactured with high purity chemicals and bottled in Hanna’s state-of-the-art facility. ISEs require calibration to obtain accurate readings when performing measurement techniques such as direct measurement and incremental methods. Up to two-point calibration is recommended for increased accuracy. Volumetric glassware may be used to dilute the standards to fix the desired concentration of the sample being measured. The ISE calibration solutions and sample solutions must always have the same ionic strength.
HI4010-10 premixed with TISAB II ion activity modifier ready to use for calibration without the need to add any further ISA. Samples measured after calibration with HI4010-10 standard must have the appropriate mass of TISAB II or TISAB III added prior to measurement with fluoride ISE.

Specifications |
– 500mL plastic bottle with red label. – Light blue solution. |
Using |
– Pour enough calibration solution into a clean plastic cup so that the electrode, sensor and electrode junction are completely immersed in the calibration solution. – Calibrate the electrode according to the electrode or meter's instruction manual. |
Methods of preservation |
– After use, cover and store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight – Do not dilute or add any chemicals to the solution. – Always use fresh solution for each calibration – ABSOLUTELY do not pour used solution back into the bottle. |
Use for |
Any fluoride electrode can be calibrated at 10 ppm. |
