Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The KETT FD-660 infrared moisture analyzer measures moisture content by detecting the weight loss due to heating and drying. It is very similar to the “Loss on Drying Test”, one of the official standard measurement methods, which forms the basis for moisture measurement. The moisture content of most samples (0-80g), regardless of their type and shape, can be measured.
The FD-660 is more compact when compared to conventional products and is equipped with an automatic tare mechanism to minimize the effects of scale drift. In addition, it has been redesigned, especially on the control panel.
Despite its compact appearance, this infrared moisture meter is highly practical, with functions equivalent to higher-end models, such as an arbitrary mass sampling method and an auto-taring mechanism. It can measure the moisture content of many samples regardless of type or properties.
It has a built-in “auto-taring mechanism” that can store 50 measurement data and adjust the zero point during measurement
The LED on the control panel lights up to indicate the operations that the user can perform and to inform the user of the status of the device.
The organic carbon heater, which is the heat source, does not contain halogen compounds or metals that pollute the environment. Its lifespan is 7,000 hours*, which is about four times longer than that of conventional infrared lamps. In addition, in the wavelength range (2.5 to 3 μm) where moisture reacts with heat, it emits more than twice as much infrared light compared to the general halogen heaters installed in other infrared moisture meters. This makes it possible to dry efficiently.
*This shows the actual time of the infrared heater. It does not guarantee the actual lifespan.
The instrument is equipped with two measurement modes, “automatic stop mode” and “timed stop mode,” allowing measurements to be performed under drying conditions that are best suited to the drying characteristics of the sample.
The built-in high-performance electronic balance can be calibrated using standard weights, etc. However, even with a high-performance balance, drift due to temperature changes at the component level during measurement is unavoidable. Therefore, like conventional models, this unit also has a built-in “auto-taring mechanism” that can adjust the zero point during measurement. This minimizes the effects of balance drift even during long-term measurements, enabling highly reliable measurements.
It has a data memory function that can store 50 measurement data items and output them all at once.
Equipped with 5 measurement condition storage numbers. By registering the measurement conditions of various samples to these numbers, measurement preparation can be made more smoothly.
Immediately after powering on or if the temperature inside the measuring device is not constant, errors may occur in the measurement. To eliminate these issues, this device is equipped with a PreHeat mode that allows preheating.
The large sample tray allows more samples to be taken, sample improves representativeness, and the ability to spread the sample thinly improves drying efficiency.
By connecting to a printer (optional) or a PC and the data logger software “FDL-02” (optional), the drying state during measurement and the final measurement value can be printed and displayed.
