Force and mechanical measuring equipment
– Measure sweetness from 0 to 85% Brix
– Displays refractive index in temperature compensated (nD20) and uncompensated (nD) format
– Refractive index is measured to determine the composition of a liquid and assess its concentration and density.
– Small sample size, about 2 drops of solution (0.1 mL)
– Automatic temperature compensation
– Simple and easy calibration with just 1 key
– Fast, accurate measurement in 1.5 seconds
– Ideal for measuring in juice, food, jam, honey…
%BRIX DISPLAY AND REFRACTIVE INDEX
The HI96800 measures refractive index from 1.3330 to 1.5040 with temperature compensation (nD20) and from 1.3300 to 1.5080 without temperature compensation (nD). The refractometer can also convert refractive index to % Brix (0-85%)
1-POINT CALIBRATION
The device has a calibration function with distilled water or deionized water before measuring the sample.
AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION (ATC)
The machine has a temperature measuring function that will read the result as the exact temperature compensated sweetness value without any further calculations.
STAINLESS STEEL SAMPLE CABINET
Easy to clean after measurement and corrosion resistant
SMALL SAMPLE SIZE
DUST AND STEAM PROTECTION DESIGN
FAST MEASUREMENT TIME, EASY TO USE
Results time is only 1.5 seconds, ideal for analyzing fruit juice, honey, etc.
REFRGUSTING INDEX
The HI96800 allows for measurements based on the refractive index of a sample. Refractive index is a measure of how light passes through a sample. Depending on the composition of the sample, light will refract and reflect differently. By measuring this with a linear image sensor, the refractive index of the sample can be evaluated and used to determine its physical properties such as concentration and density. In addition to the linear image sensor, the HI96800 uses an LED, prism, and lens to make measurement possible.
Temperature variations will affect the accuracy of refractometry results, so temperature compensation is essential for reliable results. The HI96800 incorporates a built-in temperature sensor and is programmed with specialized algorithms that then apply temperature compensation to measurements according to the ICUMSA standard for a percent by weight sucrose solution at 20oC. These temperature compensation algorithms vary based on the parameter being measured. The user can switch between temperature compensation (nD20), no temperature compensation (nD) and % Brix temperature compensation by pressing the ' keyRange' in measurement mode.
