Unitta Laser Gates AT-1. Gates's laser Alignment tool, the AT-1 laser, ensures a much faster and more accurate method. This device is installed in a few seconds and the laser beam projected over the receivers allows you to quickly determine and correct misalignment. The AT-1 LASER identifies the parallel and angular misalignment of the pulleys and is valid for pulleys with a diameter greater than 60 mm.
The LASER AT-1 alignment adjuster is a measuring instrument that allows you to easily check the parallelism and twist between the pulleys when mounting the belt (timing belt / V-belt) and the pulley.
When the timing belt is driven, the belt does not stop at the center of the pulley, but it is always biased to one side (due to the side thrust characteristics of the belt) and hits the pulley flange to stop.
If the pulley alignment is not correct, the belt will be pressed hard against the flange, not only will the belt end face be significantly worn and damaged, but it will also climb up the flange and cut. Also, since the elongation of the core wire is very small, the greater the deviation of the pulley alignment, the greater the tension difference between the belt ends, and the shorter the belt life.
Therefore, when installing the belt on the machine, adjust the pulley alignment as accurately as possible.
