The HI181 is a lightweight and inexpensive magnetic mini-stirrer with an integrated electrode holder. The stirrer is compact and easy to handle, saving space. Measurements are made easier with the adjustable electrode holder that can hold up to three electrodes of 12 mm diameter or less. The HI181 mini-stirrer is available in 11 colors, allowing for easy identification on crowded benchtops.

Speed control

Ideally, when performing electrochemical measurements, the samples to be measured should be stirred. The use of a magnetic stirrer allows for proper mixing and the samples are homogenous in consistency and temperature. Sample agitation also speeds up the response time for a sensor to achieve stable measurement values.

Compact, Colorful & Cost-Effective

The HI181 mini-stirrer is compact and lightweight, allowing for easy use in the laboratory environment. Limited space on the laboratory bench is no longer a concern with this durable, space-saving, and colorful magnetic stirrer. The HI181 features 11 colors that can help the user to recognize different samples. Power-indicating LED lights help the user to identify at a distance when the stirrer is in operation. The durable plastic casing will resist the harmful effects of accidentally spilled chemicals. The advanced design incorporates electronic controls that allow the user to easily adjust the speed with excellent precision.

Integrated electrode holder

The HI181 mini-stirrer's adjustable electrode holder can hold up to three 12 mm diameter or less electrodes. When combined with a multiparameter meter, this feature allows simultaneous measurement of a single sample. For temperature compensated measurements, a Hanna temperature probe can be placed in the electrode holder for accurate compensation.

Speedsafe™

Often in the laboratory a sample is removed from a stirrer before the speed has been reduced properly, causing the motor to accelerate further and this can cause damage to the internal motor. To control speed from changes in viscosity or when the load is reduced, the HI181 mini magnetic stirrer incorporates the Speedsafe™ mechanism. With Speedsafe, a speed sensing device (optical sensor) is combined with an FVC (frequency voltage converter) to monitor the stirring speed. When the speed reaches a preset maximum, the speed limiter turns off the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) to slow the motor speed. This ensures that when the sample is suddenly removed from the stirrer, the motor will not accelerate and there will be no danger to the user or the stirrer; a feature not commonly found in conventional stirrers.
