Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The HI302N is a compact inverted magnetic stirrer with integrated time and speed control and an AISI 316 stainless steel cover with a maximum capacity of 2.5L. The stainless steel cover is ideal for stirring samples when performing exothermic reactions or solutions containing corrosive substances that would be damaged if the cover of a stirrer were made of plastic. Stirring speeds range from 100 to 1000 RPM. The HI302N magnetic stirrer is an ideal space saver in the laboratory.

Ideally, when performing electrochemical measurements, the samples to be measured should be stirred. The use of a magnetic stirrer allows for proper mixing and the samples are homogenous in consistency and temperature. Sample agitation also speeds up the response time for a sensor to achieve stable measurement values.
Compact & Cost Effective
The HI302N magnetic stirrer is compact and lightweight, allowing for easy use in the laboratory environment. Limited space on the laboratory bench is no longer a concern with this durable, space-saving magnetic stirrer. An LED light source indicates at a distance when the stirrer is in operation. The advanced design incorporates electronic controls that allow the user to easily adjust the speed with excellent precision.

The HI302N stirrer is equipped with an AISI 316 stainless steel cover over an ABS body. This is an ideal cover for applications where exothermic reactions occur. AISI 316 steel is known to have high resistance to chloride corrosion.
Speedsafe™
Often in the laboratory a sample is removed from a stirrer before the speed has been reduced properly, causing the motor to accelerate further and this can cause damage to the internal motor. To control speed from changes in viscosity or when the load is reduced, the HI302N magnetic stirrer incorporates the Speedsafe™ mechanism. With Speedsafe, a speed sensing device (optical sensor) is combined with an FVC (frequency voltage converter) to monitor the stirring speed. When the speed reaches a preset maximum level, the speed limiter turns off the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) to slow the motor speed. This ensures that when the sample is suddenly removed from the stirrer, the motor will not accelerate and there will be no danger to the user or the stirrer; a feature not commonly found in conventional stirrers.
Protective fuse
For safety, in the event of a short circuit, the HI302N is equipped with a replaceable fuse. The circuitry of the HI302N will be further protected.
Timer
The HI302N stirrer is equipped with a timer control to automatically start and stop the stirring process after a selectable time period (from 5 minutes to 2 hours). For non-Newtonian liquids such as oils and clays, the viscosity changes during stirring, making it necessary to adjust the power to maintain a constant speed during stirring. Hanna Auto-Speed stirrers are designed with automatic feedback control to maintain a constant speed as the torque load changes and are therefore ideal for stirring non-Newtonian liquids where the viscosity changes during stirring. They are also ideal for mixing applications where one solution is added to another which changes the power and therefore the torque load on the stirrer. The Auto Speed stirrers maintain a constant stirring speed during mixing up to a 2.5 liter capacity. They can also be used with Newtonian liquids with a 2.5 liter capacity.
Auto reverse
The HI302N stirrer has an adjustable auto-reverse setting. A reverse timer knob allows the user to adjust the reverse time from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Once the time is set, the liquid will rotate in one direction for that time and then reverse its rotation for the same time, all at the desired speed in a repeating cycle until the stirrer is turned off.
