The HI839800 is an easy-to-use heating device with a metal housing construction.

The machine is designed with 3 pre-defined temperature programs at 105ºC, 150ºC and 170ºC and allows customization of 3 other heat programs.

LEDs will indicate when power is on (POWER), heating (HEATING) and hot surface warning (HOT).

At the end of the selected digestion time, the instrument will emit an audible signal and the heater will automatically turn off.

The temperature is continuously displayed on the display even when the temperature program is not activated.

The HI839800 is enhanced with three preset temperature programs and allows for three additional customizable heat programs. The three preset heat programs include:

170ºC: COD measurement
150ºC: Measure COD, Total Iron, Total Phosphorus, Hydrolyzable Acid Phosphorus
105ºC: Chromium, Total Nitrogen

The test tubes automatically heat up to the set temperature, holding it until the countdown timer has completed. Once the time has elapsed, a beep will be heard and the heating element will turn off. The exterior of the HI839800 remains cool to the touch even during digestion. A laboratory safety shield and test tube cooling rack are available for purchase for a safer and more complete digestion process.

SALIENT FEATURES

Temperature setting – The machine has three temperature programs available. 105ºC (221ºF),150ºC (302ºF) and 170ºC (338ºF). In addition, users can customize 3 new temperature programs.

Temperature warning – The HI839800 alerts the user in case the heating block temperature is above or below the set temperature. A timer icon reminds the user to wait until the heating block has cooled or warmed up before placing the sample.

Countdown timer – An integrated countdown timer of up to 180 minutes allows the user to easily set the required digestion time by pressing the up and down arrows. Once the time has been set and the heating elements are stable, press the START button to begin the digestion process.

Status indicator light – Three LEDs are present on the HI839800. A green LED indicates that the heating mode is on; a yellow LED indicates that the meter is heating to a specified temperature; a red LED indicates when the meter is heating above 50ºC, reminding the user that the aluminum tubes are hot.

Prevent overheating – The HI839800 contains a thermal fuse to prevent the meter from overheating. If the meter overheats, the meter automatically shuts off and all LED indicators turn off.

Location to check temperature – In addition to the 25 aluminum heating tubes, a small hole is available for a temperature probe to check the heating block temperature.

Continuous LCD display – The machine temperature is continuously displayed in an easy to read LCD display, even when there is no temperature program running. All temperature-related information is easily visible in sleep and warm-up modes.

Error message – On-screen messages alert to problems including high or low temperatures, hot surfaces, or heating system malfunctions.
