CAL CHECK FUNCTIONTM
CAL Check featureTM Hanna's proprietary technology allows independent measurement channel performance verification.
CAL Check standard setTM HI83303-11 (purchase separately) by HANNA was developed to simulate a specific absorbance value at each wavelength to verify the accuracy of the instrument.
OPTICAL LIGHTING SYSTEM
The HI83303 is designed with an advanced optical system that incorporates a beam splitter so that light can be used for absorbance readings and for a reference detector. The reference detector monitors the light intensity and corrects for interference caused by electrical or thermal fluctuations of the optical components. Each part plays an important role providing excellent performance from a photometer.
High efficiency LED light source
An LED light source offers higher efficiency than a tungsten lamp. LEDs have a higher luminous efficacy, providing more light while using less power. They also generate very little heat, which can otherwise affect the electronic stability of optical components. LEDs are available in a wide range of wavelengths, while tungsten is considered white light (all wavelengths of visible light).
High quality narrow band noise filter
The narrow band filters not only ensure greater wavelength accuracy (+/- 1 nm) but are also extremely efficient. The filters allow up to 95% of light from the LED to be transmitted compared to other filters that only allow 75%. The higher efficiency allows for a more powerful light source. The end result is greater measurement stability and less wavelength error.
Reference detector for a stable light source
A split light beam is used as part of the photometer's internal reference system. HI83303 . Reference detectors compensate for noise caused by power fluctuations or ambient temperature changes. Now you can rely on a stable source of white light (zero) and your measurement sample
Large cuvette size
Sample cells of HI83303 fits a 25 mm glass cuvette. Together with advanced optical components, the larger cuvette size significantly reduces cuvette indexing errors. The relatively long cuvette length allows more light to pass through the sample solution, ensuring accurate measurements even in low absorption samples.
Converging lens for more light
Adding a focusing lens with optical paths allows all the light to exit the cuvette and focus onto the silicon detector. This new method allows photometric measurements to avoid errors caused by glass imperfections and scratches and eliminates the need for indexing the cuvettes.
