WHAT IS SILICA?
Silica is found in natural waters in dissolved mineral form. Silica is sparingly soluble in water and can be found in ionic, silicate, or colloidal or suspended particles. The solubility of silica depends on pH, temperature, pressure, and under unfavorable conditions for precipitation. Silica is often found in industrial environments, especially high-pressure turbines, but is not necessary because silica is produced in abundance when temperatures and pressures increase. Heating systems and reverse osmosis plants need to monitor silica to ensure operating efficiency.
MODERN FEATURES OF METER
Step-by-Step On-Screen Instructions
Setup, calibration and measurement instructions with step-by-step instructions and on-screen animations.
Simply access Guidance Mode at any stage during setup or measurement using the dedicated HELP key.
AUTOMATIC DATA RECORDING
No need to worry as the photometer will automatically record the last 50 measurements.
Results can be viewed immediately using the Log Recall Menu.
CAL CheckTM
CAL Check FeatureTM Hanna's direct, simple procedure to ensure the photometer is working properly.
Simply insert the cuvettes containing Hanna standards into the meter and follow the instructions.

Advanced optical system
Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamps provide more light but use less energy and generate less heat.
Narrow band interference filtering results in more accurate measurement results and higher repeatability.
A concave focusing lens reduces errors from imperfections in the cuvette.
