NI USB-8506 USB LIN Interface Converter

Producer:

1 or 2 port USB LIN interface device
The USB‑8506 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) interface for developing applications with NI‑XNET drivers. The USB‑8506 is powered by the USB bus and does not require an external power source. The USB‑8506 performs well in applications that require logging or processing hundreds of LIN frames and signals, such as in-vehicle data logging, bus monitoring, automation control, etc. The NI‑XNET device-controlled DMA engine allows the onboard processor to move LIN frames and signals between the interface and the user program without interrupting the CPU, minimizing message latency and freeing up host processor time. The USB‑8506 is equipped with a three-pin COMBICON synchronization connector to enable and synchronize the internal hardware time base with other devices.

1- or 2-Port, USB LIN Interface Device
The USB‑8506 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) interface for developing applications with the NI‑XNET driver.

The USB‑8506 is powered over the USB bus and does not require external power. The USB‑8506 excels in applications requiring logging or manipulation of hundreds of LIN frames and signals, such as in-vehicle data logging, bus monitoring, automation control, and more. The NI‑XNET device-driven DMA engine enables the onboard processor to move LIN frames and signals between the interface and the user program without CPU interrupts, minimize message latency, and free host processor time. The USB‑8506 is available with a three‑pin COMBICON synchronization connector for triggering and synchronizing the internal hardware timebase with other devices.

National Instruments USB-8506 LIN Interface Device

The USB-8506 (Part Numbers: 784663-01 and 784664-01) is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) Interface Device for creating applications with the NI-XNET driver. The user's application can utilize nxReadState to check for issues on the system autonomously from different parts of the application. For this instance, the user may deliberately bring commotion into the CAN links to test how the ECU carries on under these conditions. When this is accomplished, the user does not need the status of NI-XNET capacities to return mistakes, since this may make the application stop. The application can utilize nxReadState to peruse the system state rapidly as information, with the goal that it does not bring errors into the stream of the code. This is the LIN Interface Device's beginning state on catalyst. The interface is basically off, since it is not communicating with different hubs (ECUs).

When the begin trigger happens for the LIN Interface Device, it advances from the Idle state to the Active state. When the device stops because of a call to XNET Stop, the NI USB-8506 changes from either Active or Inactive to the Idle state. The user can course the begin trigger of another XNET or DAQ card to guarantee that inspecting starts in the meantime on the two cards. For instance, the user can synchronize with an M-Series DAQ MIO card by steering the AI begin trigger of the MIO card to a RTSI line, then directing the equivalent PXI Trigger line with StartTrigger as the goal terminal on the XNET card.
