WHAT IS ICT TEST JACK – ICT FIXTURE?

ICT FIXTURE is used to test electronic components on circuit boards in open and circuit conditions, bus systems, and PCB board solder joints.

ICT FIXTURE stands for Integrated Circuit Tester - Integrated circuit testing equipment includes a mechanical fixture and an electrical testing system. This is a standard test equipment for checking the electrical characteristics and electrical connections of connected components on the circuit board to check for manufacturing flaws and defective components.

ICT FIXTURE can be an analog or digital device depending on the testing needs, has the ability to check for many errors and has a "Bed of Nail" design - a special needle bed for each type of circuit board.

Some features of ICT FIXTURE
  • Single-sided or double-sided design: ICT test fixtures are often designed with shared mechanical parts above to facilitate changing when testing single-sided or double-sided circuit boards.
  • Adjustable Perrin backplate: This feature makes maintenance easy.
  • Materials used: Acrylic, b akelite and FR-4 resin (or as specified).
  • Exact design from Gerber file: Ensure precision when drilling contact points.
  • Automatic testing program: Minimize risks caused by manual data entry.
  • Compatible: Suitable for ICT test models such as TRI, JET, NEWSYS, OKANO, TESCON, TAKAYA, GWPOSHELL, SRC, CONCORD, PTI816 and others.
  • Measuring distance: The distance between two measuring points or between measuring points and the pre-drilled hole must not be less than 0.050″ (1.27mm). A distance greater than 0.100″ (2.54mm) is ideal, followed by 0.075″ (1.905mm).
  • Evenly distribute test points: Make sure that the circuit board does not deform after being pressed, to avoid damaging the product.
Function

ICT FIXTURE Capable of testing the electrical performance of components mounted on the board and the board's connection lines. They can quantitatively measure resistors, capacitors, inductors, crystals and other devices, and test the function of diodes, transistors, photo couplers, transformers, relays, amplifiers, modules power supply, etc. They also test small and medium-sized integrated circuits (ICs), such as 74-series ICs, memory ICs, common control ICs, switching ICs and others.

ICT FIXTURE detect manufacturing process defects and defective components by directly testing the electrical performance of components mounted to the board. Components can be checked for overvalues, damage or errors, and memory can be checked for load errors. They can detect assembly line errors such as solder shorts, component insertion errors, reverse insertions, missing, bent pins, fake solder, PCB short circuits, broken wires and many more. Test faults are precisely located at specific components, device pins, and network points, ensuring precise fault location. Fixing errors does not require much specialized knowledge. Automatic testing using the control program is very simple and fast, with testing time for each circuit board usually ranging from a few seconds to several tens of seconds.
