Machine Vision devices (machine vision)
Camera
This is the basic device to collect images during the use of Machine Vision. Different types of cameras can be used depending on the specific application, including industrial cameras, RGB-D cameras, or high-resolution cameras.
Smart cameras
Smart Camera is used to capture and extract application-specific information from a camera. Smart cameras can generate descriptions and make decisions after the image is captured. A smart camera will have all the necessary interfaces to serve its work. Besides, it can connect to Wifi or server to easily transmit captured image data.
3D cameras
3D Camera allows an image to be displayed at different angles of the object. From there come an idea of the shape of that object. With a machine vision system, a 3D camera will allow different viewing angles and perceive the depth of the object.
Thermal camera
Thermal camera (also known as thermal imaging camera) is a type of thermal camera that displays images through infrared radiation. From here, the device will show the user the heat areas on the image.
Software
Machine Vision software is used to set up and configure the devices. At the same time, they are also used to process images and produce analytical results.
Embedded System
Embedded systems are also known as computer – imaging. The special feature of this machine is that they do not have a case or frame that is directly connected to the processing circuit board. Nowadays there are many open source libraries for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Therefore, many computer vision systems are being implemented as embedded systems.
Frame grabbers
Frame Grabbers are electronic devices used to convert signals from a Camera or other video source into digital data that can be processed by a computer.
Frame Grabbers are usually installed in computers and attached directly to cameras or video sources. After collecting data, Frame Grabbers will convert analog signals to digital data and send the data to the computer. When combined with Machine Vision software, this digital data can be processed to analyze and produce results.
Lights
The lighting is responsible for adding light to the system so that the camera has enough light to take product photos. The lighting settings on the machine vision system will depend on the detail required in the image.
Lens
The lens is used by the machine vision system to capture images at the desired resolution. The lower the pixels of the camera, the lower the resolution of the lens, the lower the camera and vice versa.
High performance computer
High-performance computers are used in cases when it is necessary to process large volumes of items with many different details. This helps the visual system process information at a faster rate.
