Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The V-Belt pencil type belt tension measuring and testing device is used to evaluate and align the appropriate belt tension according to the manufacturer's standards. For each different type of belt, new and used, the rotation speed will have different tension. Alignment is usually performed periodically 24-48 hours after the line becomes operational. Alignment is very important to evaluate belt quality, tension and durability, helping the line operate stably.

V-Belt Tension Gauge
Proper tension is the key to long, efficient, trouble-free belt operation. When you install a new set of belts, use the gauge to establish correct tension.
Then, to maintain performance, re-check belt tension after 24-48 hours. The payoff is maximum belt life, reduced downtime and uninterrupted equipment service.
Belt Tension testers are for checking concerns on your synchronous belt drives and V-Belt.
How To Check V-Belt Tension
Proper drive belt tension is a critical setting on your factory. A loose drive belt can cause problems like wavy cuts or diving blades. An overtightened drive belt can cause premature wear and failure on many parts of the sawmill including cylindrical drive bearing, drive belt, and even engine failure.
The drive belt used on your factory is a V belt design. The V belt transfers power from the drive pulley to the driving pulley. A properly tensioned belt will sit in the V groove of the pulley so that the sides of the belt are the only surfaces touching. This position allows the belt to grip the pulley and still has some slippage if the drive gets in a bind.
The only way to properly set the drive belt tension is to use a belt tension gauge (MITSUBOSHI V-Belt tension gauge pencil type ). Belt tension is set by the amount of pounds (force) it takes to move the tightened belt a set amount of inches. To find this setting for your sawmill, refer to the Drive Belt Tension Measurement Guide on this page or review in your sawmill manual.
Manual Belt Tension Tester
The spring scale type tester measures how much force is required to deflect the belt a specified distance at the center of its span. This is the force deflection method of tensioning belts. The Sonic Tension Meter measures the vibration of the belt span and instantly converts the vibration frequency into belt static tension. This is the span vibration method of tensioning belts.
