Force and mechanical measuring equipment
The HI84532 is a fast, convenient and easy-to-use titrator for the determination of acidity in fruit juices. The automatic titrator is equipped with a powerful algorithm and a dedicated pH electrode that allows the mini titrator to accurately determine the end point of the reaction. In addition, the HI84532 is equipped with a piston pump in dynamic pumping mode, which automatically adjusts the amount of reagent injected based on the change in sample potential during the titration, saving reaction time while ensuring reliable results. The HI84532 is supplied with all the necessary materials for determining the acidity of both the low and high ranges. Results are displayed as % citric acid, tartaric acid and malic acid. The chemicals supplied are premixed and packaged in a closed process including standards, reagents and pump calibration solutions, eliminating the need for additional equipment.

Capable of functioning as a dedicated benchtop pH meter
The acid content index is very important in determining the ripeness of fruit and the sourness of citrus fruits. In particular, ripeness is a very important parameter to determine the taste and the best method of preserving fruit. Many countries have their own standards for fruit (based on titratable acid content or the ratio of total soluble solids to titratable acid content (degrees Brix)) to protect the interests of consumers. Normally, unripe fruit will have a lower sugar/acid content ratio than ripe fruit.
The HI84532 will determine the acidity of fruit juice by neutralizing it with a strong base to a preset pH value, the titration value includes all naturally occurring acidic substances in fruit such as hydrogen ions, organic acids and acid salts. The acidity will be expressed in g/100 mL according to the acid with the highest content. Each type of fruit will have a main acid with the highest content. (refer to the table below for more information).
Glass pH electrode
The HI84532 is supplied with the HI1131B combined electrode, which features a spherical glass membrane with a large surface area, making it an excellent device for direct measurements or for use in acid-base titrations in the water industry.
pH calibration options
Since the instrument is set to titrate according to the AOAC standard method for fruits with an endpoint of pH 8.1, the HI84532 is set to optionally set the pH calibration point at 8.2 to achieve the most accurate results when titrating.
Good laboratory practice
HI84532 integrates GLP information storage function including electrode and pump calibration date, helping users understand the status of the instrument before use and can be more confident in the measurement results.
Piston pump.
The most important device of HI84532 is the piston pump. Using a motor to control the operation of the piston makes it easier to control the pumping process, and the amount of reagent pumped out is also more accurate. The pumping mode is set to dynamic, so the amount of reagent pumped in will change depending on the change in the potential in the sample after each pump, so when titrating, the machine will pump more reagent to shorten the time, when approaching the end point of the reaction, the amount of reagent will gradually decrease to ensure the accuracy of the measurement process.
Magnetic stirring feature.
A magnetic stirring device is integrated into the machine, automatically maintaining a speed of 600 rpm, making it easy for the device to titrate highly viscous samples.
On-screen features
Easy-to-use interface: HI84532 has a user-friendly design, sharp keypad, large screen for easy use. In addition, the device is installed with a tutorial software, when activated, will guide the user on how to use the device step by step. During use, if there are any questions, the user can press the HELP key for information support.
Warning sign: users will be alerted in case errors occur when using the machine (eg: reagent volume exceeds the allowable limit..)
Graph mode: the mini titrator displays data throughout the titration, including real-time graphs.
Logging on Demand: The HI84532 allows for logging of up to 400 samples: 200 titration results and 200 pH/mV measurements. These data can be stored to a USB drive or transferred to a PC via the USB port.
As a pH/mV meter: in addition to being a titrator, the HI84532 can also be used as a benchtop pH meter, with automatic temperature compensation, automatic buffer recognition, up to 3-point calibration, ±0.01pH accuracy, and GLP data storage.
CAL Check feature. The machine will automatically analyze the electrode response signal during the calibration process and notify the user of problems that may affect the measurement results such as contaminated buffer solution, dirty electrode or cracking… the CAL Check feature not only ensures the accuracy of pH measurements but also helps ensure accuracy in determining the end point of the titration process.
