Standard flexible endoscope with superior visibility
Flexible endoscopes allow remote visual inspection of areas with many bends or at depths that rigid endoscopes cannot reach.
Manufacturing an Olympus flexible endoscope is a unique process that requires a combination of high-end optical technology and advanced mechanics, which results in high-performance and high-quality products. The standard flexible endoscope always achieves the best image quality at 6.0 mm, 8.4 mm and 11.3 mm diameters with a length of 3 m. All models have the ability to rotate the endoscope head in 4 directions and replace the optical probe.

Replaceable optical head
Although the focal point of each optical system is fixed, each inspection task requires different requirements for clear field of view and direction of observation. For this reason, all Olympus standard flexible endoscopes have the ability to replace the optical head, allowing the user to choose the appropriate field of view and direction of observation. In addition, a diode lens compensates for the different visual acuity of each inspector.
Image size
The image size of the flexible endoscope is larger than most other flexible endoscopes. Thanks to the good quality of the optical components, the image obtained from the Olympus flexible endoscope can be magnified and stored at high resolution.
TF tube with superior penetration ability
Most Olympus flexible endoscopes have an endoscope tube made of TF (Tapered Flex) which gives the tube the necessary flexibility at the body and tip, and strength at the handle, allowing the endoscope to enter and pass through many bends in the tube. At the same time, the gradual increase in stiffness of the tube as it approaches the handle ensures that the tube can be easily inserted into the inspection area or twisted when passing through the first bend. All endoscope systems using TF tubes have the logo marked on the body.
Rotate the endoscope head in 4 directions
All early models have the ability to rotate the probe head in 4 directions, allowing the user to steer the probe head to the position that needs to be inspected and observed.
Photography and filming
Users can take pictures and record videos by using an additional CCD imager or Olympus digital camera to combine with the device.
Waterproof endoscope
The entire endoscope can operate underwater. (Most models) The handle can withstand rain.
Endoscope with 4 sheaths
The structure of the endoscope is of particular concern when designing because this is the part that will go deep into the inspection area, so it must be sturdy and durable, but still ensure the necessary flexibility. To meet this requirement, Olympus has been very successful in designing a shell with 4 layers to protect the optical structures inside.
